How To Read Your Unborn Child

By Garcelina Duvantes

Many expectant mothers are still not very aware that they should start to read to their babies even before they are born, exposing your child to the written word should begin from inside the womb. By the time your baby is about eighteen weeks old he or she can begin to hear muffled voices but mom's voice is the strongest and the most preferred that is why it is such a great idea to read to your unborn child.

This really is also an excellent bonding exercise for mom and baby . This exercise isn't just excellent for mom, it can also be excellent for dad as well, it assists dad to make a connection prior to birth. Babies are able to hear their mothers voice prior to birth so envision the emotional safety immediately produced when each parent begins reading to the child from it is inside the womb simply because now in addition, it can now recognize dad's voice.

There are quite a number of researchers who are now saying that these stories actually calm your baby outside the womb as well but they are only confirming what mom's who have done this for years have found out, the more you talk and read to your baby the more adept your baby will be at language when he or she is born.

You can start the whole process by visiting your local bookstore and finding some time honored classics or you may want to choose some that have been recently written. Whatever you choose make sure it's not too long and that it is entertaining and maybe even have some rhymes, that way you and baby will both enjoy it.

If you still don't feel the push to read to your child, consider this, researchers in Amsterdam found out that a baby whose mother listens to a familiar theme song from a soap opera will respond to the music once they are born. So you can clearly see that what is heard inside the womb has an impact on the child outside of the womb.

So in addition to reading, a lot of moms are now playing music to their unborn child as it is believed by many to stimulate intelligence, in fact many people believe that classical music makes for a smart baby, although there is no concrete evidence for this, there can be no doubt that reading helps babies appreciate the written word and that familiar musical sounds provide a sense of comfort at birth.
