Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Measuring The Best Doses

By Paula Hess

Are there certain methods to keep in mind when it comes to bringing down the risk of cardiovascular disease? Many may make the argument that exercise does the trick and while there is truth to this sentiment, I think that diet should be looked at as well. Specifically, it may be time to incorporate more in the way of extra virgin olive oil. Of course, the exact amounts needed is another story that, in my view, deserves to be gone over in detail.

According to the Olive Oil Times, the 2nd World Forum for Nutrition Research Conference was held earlier in May. During said conference, discussion was made in regards to extra virgin olive oil consumption and how it related to cardiovascular disease risk. It goes without saying that a product like this is able to bolster health, as authorities like Unaprol can attest to. With that said, there was an integral bit of information brought to the forefront by dietician Dr. Marta Guasch-Ferre.

What Guasch-Ferre said was that 50 grams, which equates to 3.5 tablespoons, of extra virgin olive oil was ideal for the purpose of bringing down cardiovascular disease risk. She mentioned that the incidence of disease was lowered by 10 percent for every two teaspoons brought into the body from day to day. Who are those that are risk for contracting this type of disease, though? Are there certain individuals that would benefit more from this method than others?

The report mentioned that there were certain individuals that were at risk, type 2 diabetes patients included. It was also stated that people with high blood pressure, as well as those who smoke, might be at work for developing cardiovascular disease. With that said, there is an increased need for more heart-healthy products, including - but not limited to - whole grains, beans, and fish. Who is to say that this type of oil couldn't come into effect as well?

To me, there is so much to be said about the importance of this oil as it relates to health. While there are certain individuals which possess higher levels of risk of developing heart-related conditions than others, everyone should incorporate this type of oil more often. It is not only able to benefit the heart but the body in general. Your immune system is bolstered by the best products imaginable and I believe that this type of oil is more than worth recognizing.
