Common Mistakes And Conditions That Hurt Your Gorgeous Smile

By Lydia Wee

We all want beautiful and healthy smiles which is why we invest so much money in our oral care products and routines. Some people are so obsessed about their smile that they can actually do things that are harmful in addition to what is normal. When it comes to eating sugary stuff, we limit that for all kinds of reasons with tooth decay prevention being one of them. Of course that does not always produce the intended results. So then what is going on with those people can almost always be traced back to unwitting self-sabotage. That is why today we will address some very common mistakes that people can make that serve to hold them back in their oral care efforts.

Adequate exercise is another important ingredient to good health and a healthy smile, and maybe you also like to refresh with a sport drink too. It's not that they are all bad for you because you can replenish your body with many things it loses during heavy work outs. Acid dissolves the enamel on your teeth, and sport drinks do have a healthy amount of acid in them. Well, water will take good care of replenishing lost fluids and it is not acidic, generally speaking.

Your overall oral health depends on a wet and moist condition, and dry mouth is counter to that. It is healthy and recommended to avoid making the mouth too dry by spitting because saliva helps your mouth stay healthy. If you experience excess dry mouth, then see your doctor or dentist for a check up. Naturally you should always seek professional medical or dental advice if dry mouth does not improve.

When it comes to your body, there are a number of good things orange juice is supposed to do for you. But the sort of bad news end of it is orange juice is not so good for your teeth. Anything, such as the acids in orange juice, that attacks enamel on your teeth is not a good thing.

Your teeth, gums and mouth in general have to get proper nutrition just like the rest of you. Just to mention a few, but obviously calcium is very important for your teeth, plus there are others you need as well. If you are not sure about your particular diet, then do more research on it and determine what you are getting or not getting. While it is good that you are losing weight, just do not neglect your teeth and mouth health. There are so many things that we do every day that counteract the efficacy of our oral care routines. After all-with all the work you put into brushing and flossing and keeping your mouth clean and healthy, you want to make sure that you won't be making any mistakes that will undo all of the work you've been doing.
