Getting Rid Of A Sagging Chin In 3 Simple Steps

By James Kupe

Unfortunately, one of the common signs of aging in humans is the development of sagging or double chin. As we age, our skin starts to become harder, dryer and less elastic than it once was. This is primarily due to a decreasing amount of collagen and elastin. Carrying extra weight can also be a cause of this unwanted and often embarrassing facial feature.

This problem doesn't have to be a permanent one as there are several ways to tighten the skin under your chin. All you have to do it make adjustments to your lifestyle and you'll have a good-looking chin in no time. Below are three tips you need to follow in order for this to happen.

Tip 1 - Start Eating A Healthier Diet

If what you eat some or even most days consists of cheeseburgers, chips, cookies, soda, crackers, candy, and other types of junk food, it's pretty likely that is going to have something to do with the cause of your sagging chin. Not only are these highly processed foods bad for you in all kinds of ways, but they also have a very damaging affect on your skin's ability to renew itself.

So starting today, eating fresh, organic foods such as fruits and vegetables should be a major part of your diet. The fluids you drink should consist of fresh water or unsweetened tea, because these are going to keep your skin hydrated and feeling healthy and firm. You should start to see a difference in your weight and the health of your skin in just a few weeks weeks.

Tip 2 - Get More Exercise

Getting regular exercise is just as important as your diet if your aim is to get rid of a sagging chin. Physical activity done every couple of days will burn off excess fat and tighten up all areas of your body, with your chin seeing part of the improvement. You can also do exercises that are specifically designed to tighten the chin and neck, and one such exercise is called the double chin workout. To do this exercise, start by placing your body in a comfortable standing position.

Tilt your head back as far as you can without straining it. Open and close your mouth using your lower jaw. You should feel your neck muscles being stretched as you close your mouth. Hold the closed position for several seconds and repeat. Cardio and strength training exercises should also be done to get the most out of exercising.

Tip 3 - Apply A Good Quality Cream

Many topical creams and remedies have been created to counter a sagging chin because the problem is just so common these days. Make sure you check out each product thoroughly before purchasing so you know what ingredients they used - you don't want to be putting harsh chemicals directly onto your skin. Creams that advertise the use of plant extracts, and ingredients including yeast extract, aloe vera extract, hyaluronic acid, and soy protein are a good choice.

By making some of these small changes, such as modifying your diet and getting a bit of exercise, you have a good chance of reducing or even removing that sagging chin. The key point is to continue with these healthy habits, and you'll be able to keep your skin healthy and firm for the rest of your life.
